FAQ: Error Message on startup: Failed to load extension

Problem

When starting the FRAMR. Player, the following message appears:

This message indicates an internal issue while loading an extension. As a result, the player might not display content correctly.

Possible Causes
  • Temporary error in the player’s local cache

  • Incomplete or corrupted extension file

  • Outdated firmware causing a conflict when loading the extension

Solutions
  1. Restart the player

    • Open the player interface.

    • Select Restart from the menu.

    • Check if the error message disappears after the restart.

  2. Clear the cache

    • In the player settings, click Clear cache.

    • Then restart the player.

  3. Trigger a firmware update

If the error persists after these steps, please contact FRAMR. Support so that a technician can check the configuration and take further action.
