FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions about Servers and Data Locations

Where are the FRAMR servers located?
The operational FRAMR cluster servers are currently operated in secure data centers in Germany and the Netherlands.

Where are content and media stored?
Media and content are stored in an EU multi-region cloud bucket, which is automatically distributed across multiple European locations to ensure performance and high availability.

Can I specify in which country my data is stored?
Data distribution is handled automatically by the cloud provider. A fixed assignment to a single location is not intended for security and performance reasons.

What about particularly sensitive or critical data?
Such content can be loaded directly from a customer-specific file server, provided it is accessible via HTTP from the player or display.

Are these local data stored in the FRAMR cloud?
No. When using a local file server, this content is not stored or replicated in the FRAMR cloud.

Are there limitations with certain players or displays?
Yes. Depending on the hardware used, there may be limitations, particularly in connection with HTTPS and certificates (e.g. with BrightSign players).

Is this architecture GDPR-compliant?
FRAMR uses exclusively European data center locations. The multi-region architecture supports secure, high-performance, and highly available data processing within the European Union.
